Not all sale weekends are equal. Here's where shoppers around metro Atlanta tend to find the most (and best) sales, and what each area is known for. This is based on the listings we map every week. Every sale is different, so check the details before you drive.

East Cobb and Marietta

Big lots, established subdivisions and very active neighborhood-wide sale weekends. Great for furniture, kids' gear and tools.

North Fulton (Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek)

Newer, larger homes mean name brands, home decor and lightly used furniture. Estate sales here often run Friday-Sunday.

Decatur and Intown (Kirkwood, Grant Park, Virginia-Highland)

Older homes and lots of vintage: mid-century pieces, records, art and oddities. Parking is tight, so go early.

Gwinnett (Snellville, Grayson, Lawrenceville, Suwanee)

Swim-and-tennis subdivisions hold huge community sales, often twice a year. Ideal if you want 20 driveways in one stop.

Henry County (McDonough, Stockbridge)

Growing family neighborhoods with community sales and church rummage sales; good prices.

Cherokee (Woodstock, Canton)

Family moves and downsizing make for full garages: tools, outdoor gear and holiday decor.

Hosting a sale? For $29 (garage) or $59 (estate), Spread the Word writes your listing, posts it to free local sale-finder sites, calendars and community pages that fit, and emails you a proof sheet with every link. We can't promise turnout, but more people will know about it. Submit your sale.
