This page covers the Alpharetta sales we’ve confirmed for Oct. 23-25, 2026, Halloween and family events in and near Alpharetta through Oct. 31, and what to know if you’re hosting a sale. Plans change, so check with the host before you drive.

Tips for sale hunting in Alpharetta
- Plan a route. North Fulton sales can be spread out, so tick the stops you want on our map and let the Smart Route Calculator put them in order.
- Go early. The best furniture, tools and kids’ gear usually go in the first hour, and neighborhood-wide sales get busy fast.
- Bring cash and a helper. Many garage sale hosts take cash or payment apps only, and estate-sale furniture usually needs two people and a truck or SUV.
- Park courteously. Don’t block driveways, mailboxes or sidewalks, and follow any posted directions at estate sales.
Hosting a garage sale in Alpharetta? What the city says about signs
We couldn’t confirm on an official City of Alpharetta page whether a home garage sale needs a permit, so check with the City of Alpharetta before you set dates. What the city’s temporary sign guidance does spell out, as of Oct. 20, 2026:
- Garage sale signs count as temporary signs. Each property is allowed one temporary sign of up to 12 square feet, or up to four signs that add up to no more than 12 square feet. Every temporary sign on the property counts, including real estate and campaign signs.
- Keep signs out of the right-of-way. Signs placed in the public right-of-way or on city property, such as parks and fire stations, are removed by Codes Enforcement.
- Set them back. Signs must sit at least 10 feet behind the sidewalk, or 5 feet inside the Downtown District.
- Get permission. Signs on someone else’s property need the property owner’s OK. A tenant or renter can’t give that permission.
- No poles or trees. Signs can’t go on utility poles, trees, rocks, street signs or traffic signals, and balloons, pennants, streamers and feather signs aren’t allowed.
Our metro Atlanta garage sale hosting guide and pricing guide walk you through the rest.
