Estate sales in East Cobb: a shopper's guide

← Estate and yard sales by area in metro Atlanta

Published Oct. 23, 2026 by Spread the Word · About a 6-minute read

East Cobb estate sales usually run two or three days between Thursday and Sunday, in homes with Marietta addresses in the 30062, 30066, 30067 and 30068 ZIP codes. The first morning has the best selection, the last day often has the best prices, and in unincorporated Cobb County no sale can run longer than three days. This guide covers where East Cobb actually is, when to show up, where you can and can't park on subdivision streets, and how to get big pieces home. For this weekend's sales, go straight to our weekend sales list or the free map.

The short version

  • Where: unincorporated northeast Cobb County, mostly listed as "Marietta" in ZIPs 30062, 30066, 30067 and 30068. Search by ZIP, not just "East Cobb".
  • When: two or three days, Thursday to Sunday. Cobb County caps each sale at three days and three weekends a year.
  • Go early on day one for furniture and antiques. Go late on the last day for discounts.
  • Park legally: not in front of any driveway, not within 15 feet of a hydrant or 30 feet of a stop sign, and wherever the host asks.
  • Bring a helper, measurements, straps and a way to pay. Ask about card payments and pickup times before you buy something big.

Where East Cobb is, and why that matters when you search

East Cobb is a community name, not a city. It generally means the unincorporated part of northeast Cobb County between I-75 and the City of Marietta on one side and the Chattahoochee River and the Fulton County line (Roswell and Sandy Springs) on the other. The busy corridors are Johnson Ferry, Roswell Road, Lower Roswell, Sandy Plains, Shallowford and Paper Mill roads.

Most homes there have a Marietta mailing address even though they're outside Marietta city limits. Cobb County explains that the mailing city comes from the post office that delivers the mail, while the jurisdiction (the government whose rules apply) is a separate thing you can look up on the county's Verify Your Address map. For shoppers, that means:

When East Cobb estate sales happen

Unincorporated Cobb County limits estate sales, yard sales, garage sales, bake sales and bazaars to three weekends a year, and no sale can run longer than three days (Cobb County Community Development, Common Violations). So you won't see week-long sales here. A typical East Cobb estate sale runs Friday and Saturday, Thursday through Saturday, or Friday through Sunday. In October, the East Cobb sales on our map ran Friday to Sunday (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Saturday to Sunday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday).

What turns up at East Cobb sales

East Cobb is mostly established single-family subdivisions, and many sales come from long-time owners downsizing or from families settling an estate. That tends to mean full rooms of furniture rather than a few tables of extras. Two real examples from our map this month:

Every house is different, so read the listing and look at the photos before you drive over. Our estate sale tips for metro Atlanta cover pricing, haggling and what to check before you buy.

Parking on East Cobb subdivision streets

Most East Cobb estate sales are on quiet residential streets and cul-de-sacs with no parking lot, and a busy sale can line both curbs. Georgia law already settles most of the questions. Except to briefly pick up or drop off a passenger, you can't stand or park (Georgia DDS driver's manual; O.C.G.A. § 40-6-203):

Beyond that, follow the host. Listings often say things like "park on one side of the road" or, at one October sale near a school, "park in the school lot across the street." Don't park on lawns, keep mailboxes clear, and leave enough room for a fire truck to get down the street.

Paying and getting it home

Plan a morning route

East Cobb sits between Marietta, Roswell and Sandy Springs, so it's easy to stack a few sales into one morning. Start at the sales and events map, filter to the Cobb area and use "My route" to put the stops in driving order. Nearby, our Marietta and Cobb County page lists this weekend's sales and events west of East Cobb, and the Alpharetta page covers North Fulton just across the county line.

Holding an estate sale in East Cobb?

In unincorporated Cobb, the same county limits apply: three sale weekends a year, three days per sale. Cobb's sign ordinance allows signs for estate, yard and moving sales, but every sign has to be off the right of way and on private property with the owner's permission (Cobb County). State law also makes signs in the right of way of any public road illegal unless authorized (O.C.G.A. § 32-6-51). If your home is inside Marietta, Roswell or Sandy Springs city limits, check that city's rules instead.

No. Georgia law bars standing or parking in front of a public or private driveway, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection and within 30 feet of a stop sign, except to briefly pick up or drop off a passenger. Follow the host's parking notes, too.

County and state rules checked Oct. 23, 2026 against the official sources linked above. This is general information, not legal advice. Rules change, and HOA rules can be stricter.
